The Nations of Adetrom
Aurigixir
Government: Hierocracy
Population: Kobolds, Dragons
Amidst the eastern summits of Oklysht’s mountain range lie the Aurigixian city-states, their tremulous foundations carved into the ancient, glittering peaks. Presided over by six (formerly seven) draconic rulers, the nation of Aurigixir is centered around the worship of dragons as living deities. Ghorom-Azdul’s dragon arch-prophets are each given a territory to rule over, and although these arch-prophets are gem dragons of nigh unparalleled intellect and might, they often shift into kobold shape in order to perform business amongst the laity, or to deliver divine judgment.

Ghorom-Azdul, the Great-Wyrm of diamond who leads the nation, commands fear and respect from all his peers, even in spite of his inactive state. Ancient beyond even the most venerable of beings, Ghorom-Azdul rarely ever awakens to rule his country, instead biding his time in cycles of rest and lethargy while the world marches ever onward. As large as a mountain, or so his priests claim, Ghorom-Azdul requires a great amount of sustenance just to move his body.

If the nation of Aurigixir were ever to be threatened such that Ghorom-Azdul were required to fight, the sacrifice required to sate his appetite would be so immense as to trigger a nationwide cataclysm.
Xugngerdaz

Government: Anarchy
Population: Varied (But containing an unusually high quantity of tieflings, gnolls, harpies, ogres, and other monstrous races.)
Amongst all the lands to be found within the world of Adetrom, Xugngerdaz is undoubtedly the most mysterious. The region is scorched and ravaged, barren and debased, with echoes of its past jutting out from the weeping sands and rusty junkyards. Monstrosities lie in wait beneath Xugngerdaz’s demented cliffs and enshrouded mires, and the land’s climate is burdened by exigent curse.
Xugngerdaz has no surviving history, written or oral, and no amount of archeological excavation can dredge up even the slightest documentation regarding the circumstances of the region’s defilement. In spite of that, there are clear indicators of an ancient past hidden within the labyrinthian ruins, mechanical leviathans, and broken structures buried deep beneath Xugngerdaz’s desolate deserts. The gods, for their part, remain silent on the matter.

Deities of Adetrom
Korvacass, the Ebon Scourge
Domains: Air, Tempest, Undeath, War
Alignment: CE
Worshippers: Kenku, Brigands, Necromancers
Favored Weapon: Glaive
Though he is principally the deity of air and tempests, Korvacass has more recently been associated with undeath and warfare, given homage as the deity who stole the power of undeath from Plegrotian’s sluggardly hands. It is not known how Korvacass managed to steal the power of undeath away from Plegrotian, who has safeguarded the souls of the dead from such defilement for so long, but many of the Ebon Scourge’s followers’ conflicting tales paint the ever-cunning Korvacass as having tricked Yurtus into bestowing the power of his own, ignorant accord. Korvacass descends upon corpse-ridden battlefields, scavenging carrion, bones, weapons, and souls—whatever he can scrounge away below the matted folds of his cloak. When he is not busy scouring the battlefields, Korvacass sends his minions to steal unsuspecting souls within Plegrotian’s gray, endless underworld domain. Plucked from their resting place by uncaring, ebony talons, the souls are carried aloft to be repurposed in new, macabre bodies.
Korvacass typically appears as a hunched mass of crow feathers, with a grisly mask permanently affixed to the avian contours of his beak. In stark contrast to the desolate blackness of his feathered cloak, Korvacass’s white mask is decorated with war paint, blood smears, and intricate carvings of storm clouds and death. Beneath the black feathers, Korvacass’s bony limbs move with a kind of eerie elegance, as though the deity were performing an intricate, terrifying dance with each and every movement.
Chlamon, the Protean Painter
Domains: Chaos, Formlessness, Transformation, Art
Alignment: CN
Worshippers: Kenku, Brigands, Necromancers
Favored Weapon: Rapier
Chlamon is the patron deity of changelings, and is equally as enigmatic as their ever-changing kin. Whimsy, formlessness, and theatrics make up the bulk of Chlamon’s concerns, their essence a dance of chaos and creativity, forever blurring the lines of reality and imagination. Although many of Chlamon’s followers concern themselves primarily with art, artistic expression is but one of the many facets of Chlamon’s interests. The deity embodies constant transformation, embracing the fluidity of existence. They revel in the unpredictable, finding joy in unexpected twists and turns. Chlamon embodies the essence of the ever-evolving, forever defying definition and confounding expectations.
Wholly amorphous in sex, race, build, and other defining characteristics, Chlamon is by their very existence difficult to encapsulate within any singular depiction. However, that hasn’t stopped clerics of the Protean Painter from attempting to portray their deity’s existence through artistic endeavors. It is as if the act of perceiving Chlamon simultaneously sculpts and unveils their divine form, shifting and transforming with each passing moment. Like the empty expanse of a canvas, Chlamon’s body appears as a still void of white, which ripples and expands outwards into untold pigments of flesh, scale, bone, and limbs. Like an unfinished marble statue, Chlamon’s physique crumbles away before it is polished anew, revealing new dimensions with each stroke of the mason’s tool. Chlamon’s irises, ever mercurial, spiral through each hue of the color wheel, as well as countless more invisible to the naked eye. They are chaos incarnate, esoteric and ever-shifting.
